Full Moon in Scorpio 2026

Two decades ago, I was suffering from some kind of skin rash on my limbs, which only appeared at night.  The doctor had no idea what the cause was, and no medicine prescribed to me helped.  I decided to seek alternative help.  I was in England at the time.  A traditional Chinese doctor told me that my rash was caused by excessive dampness in my body (which has its roots in a weak spleen).  She gave me a plant-based prescription, but said it would be more effective to travel to Hong Kong so I could have dried scorpion added to my prescription. She explained the rationale being that scorpions are good at crawling into nooks and crannies and pull out their preys with their pincers. Applying this to my medical condition, the dried scorpion is used to pull out any dampness lurking in the nooks and crannies of my body.  However, dried scorpions are not allowed in the UK, so she could only give me what's legally available.  This incident came rushing back to me as I was pondering on the message for the upcoming Full Moon in Scorpio on 1st/2nd May 2026, occurring at 11 degrees 20 mins (18:23 BST/ 2nd May 01:23. HKT).

Astrology is a symbolically-rich language.  Scorpio represents intense, fixed water energy, acting as the nocturnal domicile of Mars.  Full Moon is a time of culmination, when the lunar goddess is at her brightest, thanks to the solar contributor.  Previously hidden matters are put under the spotlight for scrutiny.  Anything lurking in the abyss of your oceanic psyche resurfaces and becomes exposed to the world.  Ask yourselves this:

What needs to be pulled out from the depths of your physical, emotional and spiritual lives with your incisive scorpion pincers?

(The following are written with the Whole Sign house system in mind. For other house systems,  and cases with intercepted houses, look at the house axis instead)

Full Moon Themes Through the House Axis - What do you need to extract with your pincers?

For Aries and Libra Ascendants, this full moon falls in your 2nd-8th house axis.  The Sun in Taurus and the Moon in Scorpio create a tug of war between material security and emotional surrender.  It is a time to review your finances, your material comforts, what you value the most, what you cannot live without and what you CAN live without - in the latter case, maybe it's time to let it go and make room for the new.

For Taurus and Scorpio Ascendants, this full moon falls in your 1st-7th house axis, bringing relationship matters to the fore.  It's time to assess your interaction with your significant other, and how you value yourself in general.  Are you second-guessing yourself and engaging in people-pleasing behaviours?  Perhaps allow the lunar rays to help you clearly see the situation and acknowledge there is a need for a change, however tiny that may be.  It's a small step in the right direction.  What needs to be trimmed or cut out in your relationships?

For Gemini and Sagittarius Ascendants, this full moon falls in your 6th-12th house axis. Any symptoms which flare up under this full moon, or ones which have been swept under the rug need to be dealt with.  They want to be seen, acknowledged and worked on.  Without health, we cannot do anything.  Take care of your body first.  Assess any unhealthy daily habits which are hazardous to your physical and mental health.  Clearing out dead wood will allow nutrients to go to malnourished parts of the body.

For Cancer and Capricorn Ascendants, this full moon falls in your 5th-11th house axis, bringing matters of children, romance and future plans to the surface.  What do you need to surrender to God/Universe?  Have you been keeping a tight rein on your children or your other half?  Are these stressful interactions affecting your future plans with them?  Be honest and view these issues as if you are an outsider looking in.  What do you see? What can you do to ease the tension?  Are the social networks you belong to giving you support and opportunities for growth?  Are there friends who only show up at their convenience?  Are you a good friend to your friends?  Is there a need to prune your tree of friendships?

For Leo and Aquarius Ascendants, this full moon falls in your 4th-10th house axis, bringing issues regarding your home life and your career.  Are you happy with your residential situation?  Do you need a change of scenery but just don't feel motivated to move, or your finances won't allow you to?  You don't need to make drastic decisions and move house, but it's a good time to seriously think about making changes to your living environment,  which could be as small as rearranging your furniture.  Clear out your space.  Did you know that clutter is bad Feng Shui?  Same goes for your career; you're not expected to make a career change under this full moon, but at least conduct an honest assessment on your professional situation.  Perhaps there is an imbalance of how you allocate your time to your family and work.  Whatever your issue, make time to at least look at it.  What do you need to pluck out?

For Virgo and Pisces Ascendants, this full moon falls in your 3rd-9th house axis, flagging up problems in how you communicate and how you think, which are ultimately linked to your belief system.  If you have a religion, are you happy with what it is providing you?  Is it giving you a supportive framework in how you analyze life?  Are there any useless information or thought beliefs which need to be expunged from your mind?  Do you need to alter any habits to improve the way you relate to your siblings/peers?

Are the other planets conducive to fulfilling your Full Moon in Scorpio task?

The Moon falls in Scorpio, hence we have a weakly-placed moon, which can make it harder to come to terms with any exposed truths and to work through the emotional baggage unearthed.  However, once you are willing to surrender, the healing can be deeply transformative.  This is especially so with the moon's dispositor, Mars, being strongly placed in Aries, though beware of overidealising the situation with Mars square Jupiter, and Neptune is also in the mix (for those who look at the outers).  Luckily, we also have Saturn in Aries.  It is in its fall, but I think it helps with balancing out the fantastical aspect of Neptune and Mars-Jupiter square, keeping actions carefully planned and executed.  Try to stay grounded and real, you are a mortal living in the physical realm.  Dreams and fantasies can be a refreshing respite, but just be reminded that any wrong moves made will have to be faced by you in the real world.  Just as long as you are willing to be responsible for all possible outcomes, feel free to chase after your dreams.

The rational mind, Mercury in Aries, is rather rash, but it's approaching its anoretic degree, perhaps it is gathering wisdom to discern the most beneficial way to use this warrior energy cerebrally.  Voice those opinions confidently if you have been withholding them due to fear.  I'm not suggesting an emotional outburst, but one that will bring clarity to the situation, so all parties involved can benefit from hearing what you have to share.  This is also a time conducive to be daring and different.  Break free from the existing mould with Uranus and Venus in Gemini, they are likely to give you the much needed nudge in the right direction, at least mentally, as both are disposed by Mercury.  The nodal axis is sending positive connections to this full moon,  Take the steps you are willing to take, whether it be pigeon steps to test the waters, or to take the plunge with a huge stride forward.   The Universe has your back, but only for those who are willing to take calculated risks.
