What a girl wants (Venus), What a girl needs (Moon)

The Moon and Venus represent our female energy.  The Moon shows what you are comfortable with and Venus shows your desires.  If both are in a harmonious relationship with one another, i.e. same element (trine) or same sign (conjunction), then what you need is what you want or what you want is what you need.  However, we run into problems when we want one thing but need another, e.g. Moon square Venus.

Moon in Capricorn (Cardinal Earth) square Venus in Aries (Cardinal Fire)
Problem: Moon needs material security but Venus wants to be spontaneous
Solution: Channel the competitive spirit of Venus in Aries into helping the ambitious Capricorn Moon to climb to the top

With the opposition, we appear to have the Moon and Venus starting at opposing ends, but they are aiming for the same goal.

Moon in Leo (Fixed Fire) oppose Venus in Aquarius (Fixed Air)
Problem:  Moon feels more comfortable with focusing on creatively expressing herself whereas Venus wants to be humanitarian and focus on others instead
Solution: Find a way to allow the individual self (Moon Leo) to shine in a group setting (Venus Aquarius)

What do you want (Venus) and need (Moon)?

Saturn in Sagittarius & Neptune in Pisces: Dreaming in Reality

Saturn is about to ingress into a new sign on 23rd December (GMT), having spent 2.5 years swirling in the dark waters of Scorpio, dredging up the past and any junk that has been lurking in the whirlpool of the psyche.  (We haven't completely seen the back of it though, as it is due for a re-visit from mid-June to mid-September 2015.)

For me, the past 2.5 years have been a period of intensive cleansing of the subconscious world, or rather, the start of it, for it's a lifelong process. No one (I don't believe anyway) is 100% cleared, if I come across anyone who says they are completely free of emotional entanglements, I know they can probably do with a visit from Saturn transiting in Sagittarius.....reality check!

Saturn represents life lessons, in Sagittarius, the focus is on exploring the meaning of life.  It is a time of mind expansion (Sagittarius) within the mortal system (Saturn).

The first decan of the mutable signs (Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo and Pisces) are under close contact with Saturn in Sag in 2015; Neptune in Pisces will also join the crowd.  It's an interplay between searching for our dreams (Neptune) in reality (Saturn).  It is very well to dream big, but Saturn cautions us to dream (Sag) within mortal limits (Saturn).  I agree that we can move mountains with our positive intentions but Saturn reminds us that we are still under certain restrictions on this planet.  For example, we cannot turn back time (Saturn).  I have noticed a theme of 'regrets' in those around me recently.  'If I had done A, then I wouldn't be in this mess....'  Well, what's done is done, as harsh as this may sound, it's time to move on.  Touch base and ask yourself what you have learnt from the experience (Saturn in Sag).  Everything happens for a reason after all.....

I keep on meeting ......Gemini

We have all the signs, but when a particular sign does not have a planetary representative, then that energy has one less conduit to manifest itself in reality.  For me, that's Gemini.

I have no Gemini planets, but my natal Mercury has many wonderful aspects to other planets (thank God for that!).  My best friend since primary school has a Gemini stellium and most of my chums are air dominant (I have a lack in air).  The Universe has its wonderful way of making sure that we get what we need, i.e. a chart lacking in fire and the native is likely to find him/herself surrounded by dynamic individuals.

For me, meeting all these Gemini pals is helping me to become more aware of my natural tendency to be on the quiet side.  They remind me to be more communicative, that no man is an island; we are social beings who need to connect with others.  I also tend to take life way too seriously (my Sun-Saturn influence and a heavily-tenanted 8th house), therefore encountering these individuals allow me to see the joy of living in the moment and to lighten up.

For those who are on the other end of the spectrum, i.e. prone to gossiping and meaningless chattering, seeing another person suffering from verbal diahorrea could reflect their garrulous side.

So really, it's a matter of knowing whether you need to display more Gemini traits or to suppress the excess.  Which one are you?

New Moon in Capricorn 2014

Last new moon in 2014 occurs in the sign of Capricorn at 0 degree 06 minutes on 22nd December (GMT).  We also have Mercury, Pluto and Venus joining this new moon in Capricorn.

A cardinal earth sign, Capricorn is about developing a sense of responsibility, becoming aware of one's limits, setting  realistic goals and connecting with our inner authority.

This new moon's ruler, Saturn, is at its final degree of Scorpio, signifying a time of change.  In addition, Uranus is station direct, which is also in a tight conjunction to Pluto (Pluto conjunct Venus).  The tension builds up where on the one hand, we want to stay within our zone of safety and minimise the amount of risk to be taken. However, on the other hand, we feel the urge to leap from what's comfortable, to reach out ambitiously.

Where does this new moon fall in your chart?

I keep on meeting...Taurus

What does the Taurean energy want us to become aware of within ourselves?

If you are prone to be indecisive then meeting Taureans is a message for you to be more steady and firm.  How about if you are on the other end of the spectrum and is rather stubborn?  Then seeing another Taurean mirroring back your rigidity can allow you to see how inflexible you can be.  It's all about reaching a healthy balance.
Are you an indulgent eater? A compulsive hoarder?  Perhaps it's time to loosen your grip on your material goods.  Developing a healthy self-esteem is the ultimate goal.  You may temporarily feel good while indulging on the luxuries of life, or think that financial success and affluence can bring you happiness, but chances are that when you do eventually get your hands on that dream house/salary/job, you'll discover that you're not as happy as you thought you would be.  It's that inner stability derived from knowing your true self-worth that will stand the test of time.  Another possible manifestation of this earth energy is to build/create something of worth on the material plane.  Once you have discovered what truly matters to you, you'll know what it is that you need to create in this world.

I keep on meeting....Aries

Astrology is a celestial language.  It is a way for the stars above to communicate with us.  All we need to do is decipher the meaning behind the patterns formed, i.e. planets dressed in different signs dwelling in various houses.

I remember once I purchased an astrology book talking about what it means if you keep on meeting people under a particular sign.  Just over a decade ago, I kept on meeting one Virgo after another!  Have you had this experience? I believe that there are no coincidences.  There are meanings behind everything, it's just a matter of understanding the message encrypted within.  Therefore, if you keep on encountering individuals born under a particular sign, it's highly likely that there are traits of that sign which you need to be aware of.

Aries - Keep on meeting these active and dynamic individuals is a probable sign that the Universe would like you to be more brave and courageous.  Blaze a new trail and unleash the warrior in you. Be a pioneer.  Be spontaneous.  On the other hand, if you are prone to be rash and impulsive, then it's time to redress the balance.  It's a matter of projection.  If you find yourself becoming irritated with people who appear to be selfish, do not listen to you, short-tempered and impatient, then there's a high chance that either you have those traits but are unaware of them, or you have acted in those ways in the past and still have not forgiven that part of yourself.   It could be that you are the complete opposite (i.e. selfless, a fantastic listener and have a load of patience) but cannot stand those people who can get away with doing the opposite, e.g. 'He's so big-headed.' (you're probably jealous of his confidence).  'She's such a bitch.' (you may be jealous of her assertiveness because you're a doormat) etc......

This is a fantastic time to introspect and become aware of what's been triggered in your emotional system.  It's nothing to do with the other person, s/he is simply there as a reminder (don't shoot the messenger!).  Why is it that you have that emotional reaction?  Chances are that it can be traced back to a childhood incident which has left a scar inside of you.  Are you willing to track it down and uproot it?

I've been doing this pretty intensively for the past 5 months. Every time, when I feel emotionally triggered/challenged, I would ask myself what is it that I am unhappy about, and then try to relate it back to a childhood incident.  I originally apply the rules of family constellation in this process of 'digging up my emotional roots' but found that including astrology can also add another dimension to this search.

Jupiter in Leo retrograde 2014

Jupiter goes retrograde from 20:41 (GMT) on Monday 8th December, until 9th April 2015.

With Jupiter in Leo, the focus is on ourselves. You may not have your Sun in Leo but we all have Leo somewhere in our birth charts - where is yours?  That's the place where the flame wants to be ignited, or to burn more strongly and brightly.  Careful not to overdo it as it is Jupiter we are dealing with!

The expansive planet is in retrograde motion, urging us to go within and communicate with that part of ourselves that want to be seen.  Have you found your own stage to perform upon?  Have you identified that celestial spotlight to stand under, where you can proudly show the world what you are made of?  Use these 4 months to ponder on what it means to allow your authentic self to shine through, to connect with that inner wisdom and tap into the fountain of strength within.

Look in your birth chart, where is that flame of confidence burning?  Also look for your natal Jupiter.
