Changes

Being pushed beyond one's comfort zone can be both an exhilarating yet stressful experience. Having stability in life is one thing, but when it becomes stagnate, changes are quite welcoming. Besides calling upon archangels and ascended masters such as Jesus for assistance, recently, I've been pulling the 'Kali' card from Doreen Virtue's Goddess Guidance oracle card deck.

Kali is the Hindu goddess of endings, change and transformation. In essence, she supplies the courage and determination to those who are ready to weed out any old patterns which have passed their sell-by date and to replace the void with fresh seeds for new beginnings.

Astrologically, Uranus (the planet of change and awakening) is transiting my 8th house of endings and transformation so this aptly coincides with Kali's message.

Keep the Faith

With the recent natural disasters occuring in Southeast Asia - i.e. earthquake in China and cyclone in Burma, it is easy to lose faith in God. Instead of dwelling on 'Why is it happening?', let's think about what we can do to help.

Materially, we could help by making a donation (e.g. http://www.redcross.org.uk/). Metaphysically, we could pray. It is important to hold positive thoughts and to keep the faith.

What is your gift?

Wa-Na-Nee-Che, a native American Indian I met lecturing at The Mystic Arts Exhibition today, gave me some food for thought.

I was expecting a feathered headdress adorned man promoting the idea of power animals to us, but instead, the first message he shared was simply 'find out what your gift is as quickly as you can.'

I personally prefer to use astrology as a tool to discover our inner blueprint. However, it is ultimately up to each individual to work through the challenges life decides to throw his/her way. I was pleased to hear the same concept being preached by Wa-Na-Nee-Che - 'I will give you tools to work with, however, I'm not your crutch'. Too often, people in distress rely on miracle cures from New Age practitioners. It is important to realise that no-one understands yourself better than you do. These 'guides' can offer you their tools but you must take the proactive approach to help yourself. I like to think that the themes and patterns derived from a birth chart can help empower the individual to gain a better self-understanding, but the healing process will only begin when the person in question is sitting in the driver's seat, taking full responsibility of his/her actions. Feeling sorry for yourself and leaning on another person won't be productive in the long run.

Wa-Na-Nee-Che also pointed out that many 'zombies' are created by modern society, that is, people who are too fearful to break out of the mould and truly discover who they really are spiritually and to use their God-given gift to enhance the world.
