February Horoscopes 2026

(All dates given are according to the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).  All information is taken from the wonderful Astro Moon Diary by AstroCal. )

In the month of February, the planets are busy realigning themselves in the sky.   We begin with a full moon in the flamboyant sign of Leo on 1st, all eyes on moi!  Then Uranus goes direct on 4th.  Watch out for sudden changes and disruptions if you have fixed planets between 26 to 28 degrees.   Mercury enters Pisces on 6th,  adding a layer of imagination to our rational minds.  Do be consciously aware though, that logical thoughts function best without unnecessary emotions.  Keep both separate (however hard this may be for some).  Venus is exalted on 10th as it saunters gracefully into Pisces.  As charming as you may feel, don't push your luck, you're prone to overestimating your attractiveness.  Saturn enters Aries on 14th, not a strong placement for our master of wisdom, look where this lands in your chart, as this shows your challenges for the next two years.  The solar eclipse in Aquarius marks the start of the Chinese lunar new year on 17th.  I wouldn't personally make new moon wishes under eclipses, but that is just my own personal choice.  The Sun then enters Pisces the next day on 18th, shifting the focus from the innovative humanitarian, to the compassionate artist.  Saturn and Neptune finally come together in a conjunction on 20th. Melting of structures and uncertainty seeping into systems.  Watch out for Mercury's first retrograde this year on 26th.  Some people are adamant that this brings chaos and endless mayhem into their lives.  If you feel particularly prone to this phase, then backup your data least a week before, and avoid expensive purchases and contract-signing within this period.

This month, the planets begin by predominately aggregating in the sign of Aquarius.  Let's take a look at each sign of the zodiac to see which sector of your life needs focusing on.  Check both your Ascendant and Sun sign.  You can get a free copy of your birth chart from Astro.com.

Aries

An opportunity to lead presents itself in a group setting or in the community. however, learn to cooperate in a team and not force your ideas upon others.  You may think their needs have been considered, but only on your terms.

Taurus

Take a leap of faith and step outside the practical box that you have imprisoned yourself in.  Consider the unexplored path.  This is especially so in your area of profession, or as a parent.

Gemini

Learn to stick to your ideas and not flit from one concept to another, not everyone can follow your leapfrog logic.

Cancer

Learn to control your emotions.  Don't overwhelm your logical mind with emotional baggage, especially when planning for the future.

Leo

Detach from drama, appreciate the tiny gestures in everyday life.

Virgo

Focus on getting things done.  When things go wrong, don't take it personally.  Your failed attempts do not represent you.

Libra

Detach from relying on external recognitions.  Remember, you're the boss of your life.

Scorpio

Detach from overthinking.  It is not as dire as you think.

Sagittarius

Learn to channel your enthusiasm on matters which interest you.  Flitting from one thing to another is fun but you end up with nothing to show for at the end of the day.

Capricorn

Don't get bogged down by post mistakes or failures.  Focus on what you have gained instead.  You invested your time and you have earned how NOT to do something.

Aquarius

Learn to cooperate and immerse yourself wholeheartedly into the community but remember that you are made of flesh and bone, your family also seek your love.

Pisces

Be mindful when being compassionate.  Be wise enough to notice when your kindness s being taken advantage of.  It is perfectly fine to say no when the line is crossed.  Set the line.

🔥 Wishing Under a Solar Eclipse: a Blessing or a Curse?...🌑✨

Astrologers differ on their opinions regarding whether new moon wishes should be made under solar eclipses.

I started off on the 'modern' side, where we belief that solar eclipses are super-charged new moons so their power of manifestation is even greater, therefore, take advantage of it!

However, when I began to dabble into traditional astrology, I found the opposite.  It's because the power is so highly charged that we mortals should not get involved in it.  This practice is also echoed in Chinese astrology, where solar eclipses are described as 'Heavenly dogs eating the sun', though this is specifically referring to total solar eclipses.

With this in mind, and my past experience of casting wishes under solar eclipses, I have now decided NOT to make wishes under solar eclipses, especially when it is a total solar eclipse.

The solar eclipse in Aries on 29th March 2025 is a partial one.  I guess if you are up for some transformational changes in your life, you can take advantage of this highly charged time to reset your system.  For those who do not adapt well to changes, perhaps give this one a miss, there will always be another new moon next month.

Solar Eclipse in Pisces 2015

Solar eclipses are super new moons.

New Moons mark the beginning of a lunar cycle.  It is a time for new beginnings; a fertile time to sow seeds of intention.

Eclipses are like alarm clocks, waking you up from slumber.  Is there something hiding away at the back of your mind which needs to be pushed to the fore?  The first thing that comes to mind is likely to be IT!

The solar eclipse in Pisces on 20th March at 09:36 GMT occurs at the final degree of 29 degrees 27 minutes.  This is a pivotal time, as the luminaries are due to shift into the dynamic sign of Aries soon after.

My all time favourite archetypal astrologer Robert Ohotto, has succinctly described the underlying message brought about by this solar eclipse in Pisces, so I won't repeat it here myself.  I will tell you that this eclipse conjuncts my natal Mercury and I can already feel its energy prancing about in my mind (the effect can usually be felt +/- 7 days from the exact date of the eclipse).  From the final degrees of Pisces to the early degree of Aries, I come to understand the need to surrender to the Universe (Pisces) and then take action accordingly (Aries).  I've been deluding myself (Pisces) that if Plan A doesn't work out, I still have Plan B to fall back on.  This current eclipse is telling me otherwise - forget about Plan B because I never liked it anyway, let go of the illusion that it's something I still want to do.  Instead, go for (Aries) Plan A and if it doesn't turn out exactly the way I want it to go, then that's OK, because the Universe works in miraculous ways, there's bound to be a Plan C which might even be better than Plan A!

Solar Eclipse in Scorpio 2014

The last solar eclipse of 2014 happens on 23rd October (BST) at 00 degree 24 minutes Scorpio.

Solar eclipses are extra powerful new moons, waking us up from slumber - is there something you've been procrastinating about in life?  Eclipses act like alarm clocks, giving us a reminder that it's time to get that project off the ground, or at least, start planning and putting it into motion.

The solar eclipse in Scorpio closely conjunct Venus symbolises a new start in releasing the old and start afresh.  What are you fearful about deep down?  What are your core values?  What is it that you love to do?

This eclipse is ruled by Mars and Pluto.  Pluto is in a T-square with Uranus in Aries and Mercury in Libra.  A sudden change in your thinking could help to release and transform some old core beliefs that have passed their sell by date.  Mars is in a out-of-sign sextile with this new moon, giving us a chance to channel our energy into planting new seeds of intentions at the beginning of a new lunar cycle.

If you are sick and tired of being controlled/sabotaged by your subconscious fears (like I was during last year's solar eclipse in Scorpio), then break out of the destructive pattern and face what's hidden underneath courageously.  If you want to grow, you must change - there's no two ways about it.

Check to see which house this eclipse falls in your natal chart and the aspects it makes to your natal planets.  Eclipses have an increased orb of 3 degrees.

Solar Eclipse in Scorpio 2013

As if the energy is not intense enough cosmically, we have a solar eclipse in Scorpio to look forward to this Sunday.  Solar eclipses are super new moons.  The duration of this eclipse is 3 hours 22 minutes, which roughly translates to 3 years and 4 months of influence (1 hour = 1 year).

The Sun and Moon conjoins in Scorpio at 11 degrees 16 minutes.  A Scorpio solar eclipse could denote an intense start where we wipe the slate clean psychologically. Saturn, North Node and Mercury also conjunct this new moon, indicating the structuring of an idea that is in line with our life path.

Upsets are possible with volatile energy such as Mars inconjunct Uranus, Pluto-Uranus square tightening at 9 degrees.  However, it can bring us a sense of healing (Mars oppose Chiron and sextile the New Moon cluster), especially when we use our powers effectively (the new moon rulers, Mars and Pluto, in a trine).

Where does this new moon fall in your chart?

Solar Eclipse in Scorpio 2012

Solar Eclipse in Scorpio 2012 Cosmic Potential
The new moon in Scorpio on 13th November at 22:09 (GMT) is the second solar eclipse this year.  This time, it is visible across the South Pacific Ocean. With  a shadow period of  3 hours and 13 minutes, the effect of this solar eclipse is likely to last for approximately 3 years thereafter.  (http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEmono/TSE2012/TSE2012.html,
http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEplot/SEplot2001/SE2012Nov13T.GIF)

For the technicalities behind eclipses, take a look at my blog entry on the previous solar eclipse: http://cosmicpotential.blogspot.hk/2012/05/solar-eclipse-in-gemini-2012.html

This eclipse sensitises the point at 21 degrees Scorpio 56 minutes, so any subsequent transiting planets passing over this degree will re-activate the message of this eclipse.  (Allow an orb of 3 degrees for eclipses.)

This solar eclipse conjuncts the North Node, which traditionally symbolises a positive new beginning, bringing hope and good fortune.

With a strong Scorpionic background (Sun, Moon, North Node and Saturn in Scorpio), the essence of this eclipse is: To begin a chapter, one needs to close another.

This solar eclipse in deep and profound Scorpio is encouraging us to bring light to the dark, to become aware of the hidden aspects of life and be willing to face and release our demons lurking down in the abyss of our psyche.

If you are willing to release your demons and make room for the new, then this solar eclipse can support your spiritual journey in your mundane existence on this planet.  After all, we have Neptune (becoming direct 3 days before this eclipse) trine Saturn, and Chiron (becoming direct a day after this eclipse), sextile Saturn,  so we are encouraged to make practical use of spiritual teachings to restructure your everyday living.

Mercury, retrograding in Sagittarius, conjunct the North Node, which further emphasises the need for introspection, but in Sagittarius, be optimistic and adventurous about it.  This jolly Mercury is also sending a trine to the Uranus-Pluto square, injecting a touch of optimism into the ongoing global disturbances, at least we are beginning to see the philosophical side to it all.
