Astrological Impact of Venus in Virgo 2026: Love Under Scrutiny

Venus leaves the flamboyant sign of Leo on 9th July at 18:22 BST/10th July at 01:22 HKT and enters Virgo quietly.  The love goddess steps off the catwalk and walks into the office.  She doesn't feel too comfortable there as Venus falls in Virgo, though she has dignity by triplicity (day) in earth signs, and dignity by term between 7-17 degrees, which translates approximately to 15th - 24th July.   It just means that love takes on a low-key tone.  We tend to feel less sociable.  However, take advantage of this time and focus on accuracy in your work.  Value precision and tidiness.  Go through data with a fine tooth comb.  

In matters of love, if you know deep in your heart there's something that needs sorting out, then this is a great time to scrutinize your relationship under the Virgoan magnifier.  Perhaps think it through internally before 23rd/24th July, when Mercury is still in retrograde, which helps with introspection.  On 24th July, Mercury finally goes direct, but for those of you who are extra cautious, you may like to wait until 6th August, when we are completely out of the post-shadow phase before you take action.  By then, with Mercury direct and Venus about to exit Virgo, new solutions may surface.

Astrological Impact of Jupiter in Leo: All the World's a Stage

From 30th June 2026 to 26th July 2027, when transiting Jupiter enters the sector of your chart labelled 'Leo', expect that area of life to be under the spotlight for next 12 months.

Astrological Impact of Full Moon in Capricorn: Living in the Real World

On 30th June 2026 00:57 BST/ 07:57 HKT, we have a Full Moon in Capricorn.  

This full moon marks a time of changes, as it happens two days after Mars going into Gemini; a day after Mercury began its retrograde motion, and six hours before Jupiter enters Leo.  This Full Moon is sandwiched between endings and beginnings of significant astrological transits, calling for us to be more resourceful and adaptable. 

Think back to what happened around 18th-19th January 2026 when there was a New Moon in Capricorn.   Did you set new goals or begin a new project?   Six months on, when the moon is fully illuminated under the same cardinal earth sign, it is time to clearly see what wasn't obvious before.  It is time to tweak our plans.

Astrological Impact of New Moon in Gemini 2026 - A Logical Way to Tackle Hurtful Words

Hurtful Words

Have you ever had endless replays of conversations where someone attacks you with hurtful words but you weren't quick enough to say something clever back?  Then 24 hours later, you come up with a million different comebacks but it's just a tad late.  The torture continues as you replay the original scene and those hurtful words enter your mind over and over again.  

A Buddy's Anecdote

I have a friend with a Gemini stellium in the 12th house (including the luminaries and Mercury), who shocked me with her confession that she had been suffering from these verbal replays.  She always appears to be so positive and cheerful, so I wouldn't have thought she would be one of those people.  She said that she would mentor herself and then arrive at the conclusion that, for example, 'XX said this to me and it made me mad, it's just their opinion and it really need not affect me.'  When I first heard it, I was utterly impressed by its simplicity - how Gemini!  I'm the worst at these verbal replays and since then, I began to put it to the test and learned to develop the resilience to shrug off any negativity thrown my way.  Transmute it to love and return it to the sender.

The New Moon in Gemini on 15th June at 24 degrees 03:54 BST/10:54 HKT makes me wonder what the lunar goddess wants us to learn in this cycle?  

Transits for New Moon in Gemini

Mercury is the ruler of this new moon.  Mercury placed in Cancer is not strong at all.  At first glance, we see Mercury is in a wide conjunction with Jupiter, the greater benefic.  However, I'm sad to report that Mercury will never  catch up with Jupiter in an exact conjunction.  The closest distance between them is just under 5 degrees.  After that,  Mercury will go retrograde at 26 degrees and by then, Jupiter leaves Cancer.  Additionally, Mercury is in a separating square with Saturn. 

It is interesting to see that this new moon makes no major aspects with any other planets.  It is purely a standalone conjunction, with no other interference to affect its expression.  

Main Theme

In Gemini, the mental faculties are highlighted.  This new moon asks us to have fresh beginnings in how to be solution-focused (Gemini) rather than taking everything personally (Cancer).  We are also reminded to be mindful of how our words (Gemini) can impact our listeners' emotions (Cancer).  Be on 'Gemini-mode' and process emotionally-charged words in a logical way.  Their words do not define the real you.

As my friend puts it,  'Life is a journey of self-improvement'.  Perhaps I should thank those nasty peeps who hiss those words at me so I can grow spiritually...

Mute Signs

In traditional astrology, Cancer is a mute sign. In fact, all 3 water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces) are mute signs. They earn this label because their traditional symbolic animals - the Crab, the Scorpion, and the Fish - are incapable of making vocal sounds. When Mercury, the rational mind, is in Cancer, words do not become vocalized as readily. Nonverbal communication such as intuition, telepathic feelings are favored over explicit words. It is often claimed that miscommunication is prevalent during a Mercury retrograde period.  Let's be real and admit that these issues also crop up when it is NOT a Mercury retrograde period.  I think those issues are more likely to arise from misusing the energy of the sign that Mercury is retrograding in.  In this case, Cancer.  Look to the negative manifestation and be aware of how your moodiness and sensitivity can especially affect your interaction with others during this time.

Mercury square Neptune on 4th June, look for clarity when unsure as unrealistic expectations can cloud your judgement.  Mercury square Saturn on 10th June, mental blocks and rigid thinking can hinder you.  Use simple logic to overcome your self-doubts.  Mercury conjunct Sun on 13th July marks the midpoint of the retrograde journey, you're likely to receive your 'retrograde message', a realization of what needs to be gleamed from this retrograde.  Mercury sextile Venus on 24th/25th July, a favorable time for smooth communication, romantic connection and ingenious problem solving.
