Please explain why it is important to know VOC and how it could relate to individual nativity.
ReplyDeleteHi John,
DeleteNot sure if you're familiar with American Astrologer Jan Spiller's work on setting intentions under the new moon? I'm in the habit of setting my ten intentions according to the sign the new moon is in each month. You can check out her book 'New Moon Astrology' if you're interested. Traditionally, when the moon is void of course, it means it's not making any major aspects to other planets, which symbolically translates as lacking in cohesion - think of the moon as a binding agent. If you make a wish when there's a VOC moon, then the intention goes out into the Universe and peters out (no binding agent to give it form). So to answer your first question - it's just useful to know when the moon is VOC as more and more of my friends also set monthly intentions under the new moon, so it's become a habit of mine to share it on my blog weekly. As to how it relates to the individual, I do strongly believe that if the person is strong-willed enough, VOC wouldn't affect him/her much - though astrologers are not in agreement on this point......
