Flowing with Moon in Gemini

The Moon is currently in Gemini and will remain for 2.5 days until 11th May.

Gemini is an air sign, with a hot and wet temperament.

When the Moon is in Gemini:

Be chatty but not gossipy

Be flexible but not unpredictably changeable, otherwise, people around you can't keep up!

Be communicative without having verbal diarrhoea

Over the next 2.5 days, the moon will form the following exact aspects with neighbouring planets:

  • Trine Pluto at 2 degrees - watch out for deep and intense emotions surfacing, deal with them 'the Gemini way' with simply an acknowledgement ('I see you.  You are merely a part of my memory and has no power in my current life.') and feel if that is enough to let it go.  If not, then it's time to try other methods to make peace with your past.

  • Sextile Mars at 6 degrees 45 mins - feeling enthusiastic in what you have to do, flow with it, get as much done as you can.  Being competitive (but not too much!) can help you achieve more than usual.

  • Sextile North Node at 13 degrees 59 mins - feeling particularly receptive to the nature of how destiny works, how coincidental events occur, bringing a heightened level of awareness to your psyche.
  • Square Saturn at 17 degrees 23 mins - negative emotions may envelope you, making you feel isolated and depressed, flow with it and see what hidden thoughts and feelings crop up, deal with it simply by acknowledging its existence and attempt to move on.  This is a great time to be aware of any unhealthy habits and relationships that need to be changed or ended.

  • Sextile Chiron at 21 degrees 13 mins - a chance to work with some wounded feelings from the past

  • Sextile Mercury at 24 degrees 21 mins - flow with this aspect by connecting with others through words, you can speak it, write it, or sing it!  The most important thing is you have fun while doing so.

  • Square Neptune at 29 degrees 12 mins - flow with the confused nature of this aspect.  Perhaps feelings of emotional insecurity may come up.  Deal with it the Gemini way as before.  Gemini is highly rational and can be at war with the highly emotional nature of Neptune (modern ruler of Pisces).  Reason with whatever inner voice that crop up.  Use rationality.  'What is the probability of that happening?'  'Is that really the end of the world even if it does happen?'

We have accumulated so much emotional junk over the years.  Whenever they see a gap, they squeeze through to reunite with us on a conscious level.  Thank them for being with you all this time, but acknowledge that they no longer serve you in any way.  Let them go and make room for something else for joyous and positive.

Flowing with the New Moon in Taurus 2024

This New Moon occurs on 8th May 2024 at 11:21am HK time (4:21am BST).

The Sun and Moon meet at 18 degrees of Taurus, a fixed sign with a cold and dry temperament.  Its ruler, Venus, is in dignity, though at 10 degrees 40 minutes, the conjunction is not too strong.

Saturn, the taskmaster and disciplinarian, sextile this New Moon strongly at 17 degrees, lending some solid and realistic support to any new projects being sown, preferably something that appeals to your senses or values.

This New Moon energy is conducive to:

  •   focusing on a new task
  •   receiving support in order to germinate seeds of creativities
  •   providing a stable platform to nurture this process

Flowing with Pluto retrograde 2024

Following on from my last post on the how to flow with moon in Pisces, I think I did so too nebulously and my focus definitely weakened as I had a minor accident under this Piscean lunar energy.  In addition, Pluto began to go retrograde, hence continuing to have a strong grip with Mars (symbolising accidents) in their existing sextile.  Luckily, I can still walk, albeit with a limp, and my ankle swelled to the size of a mini tangerine.  I'm just ever so grateful to be able to walk to worry about the hidden reason for this incident.

So, moving on, Pluto retrograde encourages us to stop and unravel what's deep and hidden within us.  Events will occur to instigate this process (perhaps I do need to start analysing why I twisted my ankle afterall....), and we have until October 12th before it goes direct again.  To put a spin on this, it will return to Capricorn on 2nd September, so any unresolved issues depending on the house of your Capricorn will re-enter your life.

The next 2.5 days with the Moon in fiery Aries, it may be a good time to boldly trek into your subconscious and see what you can bring up (only if issues arise of course, otherwise let sleeping dogs lie).  As the Moon enters Taurus on 7th May, apathy and idleness could take over, hindering you (or giving you a break) from mental detective work.

Flowing with Venus in Taurus and Mars in Aries

A shift of energy is likely to be felt with the planet of love and the planet of action in dignity.

As we are on the 3rd degree of Taurus, Venus is moving away from Pluto, gradually loosening the grip of the square.  Power play within relationships, or conflicts with inner values may have surfaced.  Deal with them with courage and avoid stagnation.  Use the Martian energy to push yourself forward and face any obstacles boldly.

The Moon is due to shift into nebulous Pisces on 3rd May and will conjunct Saturn by the 4th.  Focus and determination may weaken, giving way to procrastination and confusion.  If any negative emotions surface, look at them, acknowledge them, and decide what you would like to do with them.  Pluto is in a partile sextile with Mars, you have the power to transform those negative thoughts and feelings into something more constructive.  Unravel the hidden meaning and show gratitude for having the opportunity for clearing emotional debris, making room for new ideas to incubate.

Flowing with the planets as we step into May 2024

With the detrimental moon in Capricorn, a suitable way to flow is to keep a low profile and remain calm and collected.  This isn't easy with Venus still in Aries (albeit hovering over the final degree), but her dispositor Mars is still in mellow Pisces, it is feasible.

As we move into May, we have Venus already in her first degree of Taurus, her dignified status.  Matters of love and enjoyment is supported by the Moon in Aquarius.  They will meet via a dynamic square at 11 degrees, excitement versus stability, which will you go for?

Mars enters Aries on May Day/
Beltane and will remain in dignity for 6 weeks.  Take advantage of having Mars in Aries until 10th June.  Use it wisely and tap into its exuberant energy of being a proactive pioneer, a courageous crusader or an enthusiastic explorer.  Avoid unleashing your inner furies, unless you have the determination to tame them.  Transform them face on and reap the rewards of becoming a better person.

Flowing with the Full Moon in Scorpio 2024

A powerful full moon occurs at 4 degrees Scorpio on 23rd April 2024 at 7:48am HK time (00:48 BST).

The modern ruler of this full moon, Pluto, square this full moon axis, adding a flavour of power play into the mixture.  Besides power struggles, dealing with the surfacing of deep-seated fear, and facing raw and intense emotions are also Plutonian themes.

The traditional ruler, Mars, has triplicity rulership in Pisces, but is sandwiched between Saturn (wide conjunction) and Neptune.  Fighting back doesn't seem to be a recommended option.

Overall, it is a time to deal with any ugly matters which may crop up from your subconscious.

Face it, accept it, deal with it and then let it go.  Whether you choose to let the transformation elevate you to a higher level, sculpting you to be a better person, or allowing it to drag you down further into the abyss of your emotional well, the choice is entirely in your hands.

Flowing with Moon in Leo

I don't know about you, but for the past 2.5 days, while the moon was traversing in Cancer, it hadn't been easy for me personally.

Looking at the general picture, we have the Cancerian moon sending a square to all the planets/points currently in Aries: Venus, North node, Mercury (in retrograde), Chiron and the Sun.  For the past 2.5 days, it wasn't easy to keep my furies at bay as the emotional moon brushed across the Aries brigade.  I've learned, the hard way, to keep a low profile (especially with the moon in my 12th house). I really needed to go with the flow with Mercury in retrograde - not a good time to speak up!  I trust there will be a better moment for this (either after the retrograde or even completely out of the post retrograde period).  Taming those emotional furies was a necessity.

I wholeheartedly welcome the transiting Moon in Leo, as we can display those Aries energy in a flamboyant, confident but non-abrasive way.

Solar Eclipse in Aries 2024

Just hopping on the wagon, commenting on the upcoming solar eclipse in Aries.

I'll be short and sweet, as I'll only be looking at one major aspect plus the ruling planet of this eclipse.

The solar eclipse in Aries on 8th April 2024 19:20 BST (9th April 2024 02:20 HK time) will intensely affect those with planets in Aries at 19 degrees 24 minutes.  Other planets in cardinal signs (Libra, Cancer and Capricorn) also need to watch out too.

Solar eclipse conjunct Chiron:

Issues of wounds, especially psychological ones, are likely to surface right in your face, forcing you to at least acknowledge their existence.  With Mercury still in retrograde (also in Aries), I would be inclined to say that be introspective and low-key about it.  It is YOUR problem, no need to share it with the world.  Deal with the healing without flaunting it in other people's faces.

Mars, the ruling planet:

Mars, being the ruling planet of Aries, rules this solar eclipse.  Mars conjunct Saturn in Pisces.  Fight your issues compassionately.  Deal with your wounds with maturity.  Be a realistic warrior and work on your problems with kindness.

How to flow with Venus in Aries

The love goddess has just flown into her detrimental sign of Aries, and will remain there until the last day of the month.

So how do we flow with Venus in Aries?

We could display our love boldly, flamboyantly, bravely, though let's not forget Mercury is in retrograde, so any disgraceful, unrefined manner of display could cause us to regret our behaviour later on.  Unless, of course, you are natally strong enough to disregard any external criticisms thrown in your direction.

This could be a suitable time for planning these actions, especially in your intimate relationship:

  • being assertive
  • fight for your beliefs
  • be daring and give that new hobby a go
  • begin to fuel your desires............
Feel free to extend the list....

Mercury Retrograde in Aries 2024 - Flowing with the planets

We are yet in another period of Mercury retrograde from 2nd April, back in direct motion on 26th April.

I won't go into the usual dos and don'ts of Mercury retrograde periods.  I'm sure you can find those easily on other sources, or even from my earlier posts!  I want to talk about something else that have been on my mind weeks leading up to the messenger god traversing backwards......

When we look at transits, we often think that because of x aspects, we expect y events to happen.  If we don't like the aspect, we think of ways to overcome the unwanted effects.  Of course, it is not possible, like the approach of a typhoon, we cannot run away from it.

So if we cannot escape from it, the next best thing is to go along with it.

However, if the aspect is terrible (dare I use that word, even though we are taught that nothing is truly bad), how do we go along with it?

For example, with Mercury retrograding in Aries, can we ruminate (retrograde) on the prospect of changing the way we think (mercury)?  Perhaps more courageously/assertively/action-oriented? (Aries)

Anything that have been put on the backburner can now be brought back to the fore (retrograde) for further examination.  Anything new that you desire to launch can be pushed to the back for the time being.  I now see this as a way of flowing with the planets.  If the message is to research, to revise, to rethink, then why not do just that instead of pushing forward with new ventures?

I recently have come across someone who started a new business venture during a Mercury retrograde and also Venus retrograde, but the business isn't doing well.  I'm not saying not to go ahead with the opening during that period, but to use that period for deep research into the local market instead of plunging right in.  And contrary to what I hear about natives with Mercury and Venus retrogrades natally do well during those periods, no, my friend was also born under both of those retrogrades!

I have another friend with a Gemini 2nd house.  Jupiter will enter it at the end of May.  She's likely to be spending a lot (especially that Jupiter is in detriment in Gemini).  So it's better to spend it on something which is worthwhile to her.  It turns out that she's planning to travel overseas (instead of buying an expensive bag or watch).

For myself, I have transiting Saturn conjunct my natal Sun.  I could moan about all the obstacles put before me.  I could get depressed and feel sorry for myself.  I could crumble under the pressure of life.  Or I could discipline myself steadily.  I could steadily build up my confidence.  I could explore ways to allow my inner self to shine....the list goes on.  To couple with Mercury retrograde, I plan to discipline myself to read at least one of those astrology books, which have been sitting on my bookshelf for the past decade.

How will you flow with the current planetary alignments?

Lunar Eclipse in Libra 2024

A lunar eclipse is an extra powerful full moon.  During this time, keep your emotions under reins as eclipses have a way of ruffling up your emotions, hence any decision made at this time may be later regretted.

On 25th March 2024 3pm HK time (7am GMT) we have a lunar eclipse in Libra.  The ruler of this lunar eclipse, Venus, is exalted in Pisces.  This lesser benefic is in a sextile with the greater benefic, Jupiter.  They are both in mutual reception too.  Pluto also has a role in this eclipse, sending a trine to the moon and sextile to the sun.

This lunar eclipse highlights the need to transform (Pluto) our current relationships (lunar eclipse in Libra).  From how we relate to others to our style of communication with other people (especially your significant other). This could be brought about by an event, allowing us to see our current flaws in the matter.

Where this lunar eclipse falls is the area of life where this message will be delivered.

Libra, ruled by the goddess of love, reminds us to use a softer approach, firm but fair.

New Moon in Pisces 2024 - Break free from the old

On 10th March 2024 at 5 pm HK time, we begin another lunar cycle, this time in the compassionate sign of Pisces.

Pisces is a mutable sign belonging to the water element.  It is gentle, boundaryless and self-sacrificing.  It cares about other people more than themselves.

In this new moon, we have a lovely sextile from Uranus, urging some change in the ego.  It is a way of rebalancing what is too skewed in your life.  Are you too kind for your own good? Or not compassionate enough? Whichever end of the spectrum you belong to, this is a good time to redress the balance.  Pisces is too prone to be going with the flow, so this time, we have Mars square Uranus, with Uranus connect with the new moon via a sextile.

Mars square Uranus unleashes a sudden slash of energy, which can be exhilarating, if you’ve been holding back, being nice and proper and not wanting to offend, this square can push you to face the problem.

Thankfully, Uranus sextiles this new moon so the earthquake brings an opportunity, either physically, or spiritually.  Uranus is also blessed with a wide conjunction to Jupiter, so this opportunity to be expansive, and to leap outside your comfort zone can bring positive benefits.

Another storyline to this new moon is the wide conjunction to Saturn, the tough task master.  But wait, the toughness comes with a blessing with Saturn sextile Jupiter.  It certainly is worth the sweat, for the pot of gold is at the end of the rainbow.  You’ll just have to believe it and have the stamina and determination to seek it out.

Full Moon in Virgo 2024 - Order from Chaos

On Saturday 24th February 2024, at 12:31pm GMT (20:31 HK time), we have a full moon in Virgo at 5 degrees 23 minutes.  Full moon is when the Sun and Moon are exactly in opposition to each other.  It is a time when something becomes illuminated and brought to the fore.

Incidentally, it is the 15th day (and the final day) of the lunar new year.  The 15th day of the lunar new year is also known as the Chinese Valentine's Day!

On this romantic day, we have fluffy Pisces parading under three planets:  Sun, Mercury and Saturn, with the Moon in Virgo in opposition.  It has a more romantic tone than the previous Valentine's day, but with the Venus-Mars conjunction being squared by Jupiter (Sun's traditional ruler), watch out for  indulgence, extravagance and impulsiveness in your passion!

Themes of this full moon

Order from Chaos

The full moon's ruler, Mercury, is under combustion at 3 degrees from the Sun, plus Mercury, governing logics and rationality, is in blurry and nebulous Pisces, so watch out for chaotic communications and misunderstandings.

With Sun, Mercury, Saturn swimming around in Pisces, this full moon calls for some order from chaos.  Where this full moon falls in your natal chart is the area of life where you need to regain some order from your current chaos.

Compassionate serving

Sun in Pisces illuminates the way for us to be kind and compassionate, but the Moon in Virgo gives us some order and method to serve others.  Giving without boundary can be detrimental for both parties.  Where this full moon falls in your natal chart can also show the area of life where you need to have more boundary.

Basic Guide to the Mars-Pluto Conjunction 2024

This conjunction involves Mars and Pluto - I'm sure 'power struggles' may pop into your mind.  It can manifest in that way.  Fortunately, in Aquarius, the style could lean towards fighting in a logical way, for a humanitarian cause, in a detached manner.  However, with Aquarius being an air sign, it is hot and wet, so a temper flare-up could be a possible outlet.

This conjunction allows you to learn how to utilise your power, how to exert yourself: hold onto grudges or release them into the ethers and allow transformation to take place.

Depending on where this conjunction falls in your chart, you can expect various outcomes:

1st house/aspect to your natal Sun/Mars - exert your persona/self identity, fight for who you are

2nd house/aspect to your natal Venus - exert your values, fight for what you love and value

3rd house/aspect to your natal Mercury - exert your thoughts and opinions, power struggles with peers

4th house/aspect to your natal Moon - exert your needs, (over-) protecting your loved ones

5th house/aspect to your natal Sun - exert your love, power struggles with your lover

6th house/aspect to your natal Mercury - exert your service/your duties, fight for the underdog

7th house/aspect to your natal Venus - exert your identity in an intimate relationship/partnership, fight against your enemies

8th house/aspect to your natal Pluto - exert your power over your fears

9th house/aspect to your natal Jupiter - empower others with knowledge, fight for your beliefs

10th house/aspect to your natal Saturn - exert your authority at work, fight for your public status

11th house/aspect to your natal Uranus - exert your love for humanitarian causes

12th house/aspect to your natal Neptune - exert your power to delve into your subconscious/the past, fight against your hidden enemies

Post Valentine Report 2024

How's everyone's Valentine's day?

Mine was certainly not fluffily romantic as I had thought, the Aquarian aspect for me was having a group dinner with my partner's relatives.  It was all congenial and amicable.

The fiery moon luckily didn't flare up.

The much-debated Mars-Pluto conjunction actually sits right on my natal Venus, but it's been giving me energy in a logical, left-minded kind of way.  I was able to voice my opinion in a very level-headed way.

I would be interested to hear how everyone else experienced their Valentine's day under the Aquarian stellium, coupled with the powerful Mars-Pluto conjunction...

Valentine Love 2024

What kind of Valentine's day can we expect this year?

Nothing fluffy and romantic I can tell you.

Instead, expect a left-brained controlled kind of vibe as we have a stellium in Aquarius across the planets of Mars, Pluto, Mercury and the Sun.

Romantic AI, love with a chatbot, detached love, love at a distance, logical love....

It may sound cold, dry and fleshless, but with Moon in feisty Aries, plus Mars conjunct Pluto, expect some steam, excitement and power play, but it's all contained within sense and sensibility (with reception between Venus and Saturn, where Venus is in Saturn's domicile and Saturn in Venus' exaltation; Saturn sextile Jupiter).  Spark and surprises are on the cards too with Uranus square the midpoint of Mercury and the Sun.

Happy Valentine's day everyone!

New Moon in Aquarius 2024

Happy Lunar New Year!

Gung Hei Fat Choy!

2024 is the year of the wood dragon 🐉.
Did you know that the first day of the lunar new year always falls on an Aquarius new moon?
Aquarius has two rulers: Saturn (traditional) and Uranus (modern).
Thinking outside the box is what I would normally use to describe Uranus/Aquarius, but the concept actually incorporates BOTH planets: Thinking outside (Uranus) the box (Saturn).
It is Chinese tradition to respect our elders, to acknowledge what they have already built before us. As a descendant, we pay gratitude to their hard work, and then look for ways to add our own personal touch to the existing structure. To me, that’s a lovely mix between Uranus and Saturn! Therefore, every lunar new year, we are reminded of this concept under the Aquarius new moon.
This current new moon forms a square with the modern ruler Uranus so expect changes to your plans. The traditional ruler Saturn is in a mutual reception with Venus, also exalted Mars sextile Neptune, and Mercury square the abundant Jupiter. Unexpectedness can always be overcome with flair and style. Just keep calm and carry on celebrating!
